Attorney Lynn Rainey enlisted in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps in 1981, rose through the ranks, and completed three tours of duty in Europe and one combat tour in Somaliabefore retiring in 2004 as a Command Sergeant Major. In 2007, she obtained her J.D. degree from Seattle University School of Law. Rainey’s legal experience includes working with the Seattle City Attorney's Office (Civil Division), the Government Accountability Office, the Ronald Peterson Legal Clinic at Seattle University, the Law Office of G. Helen Whitener, the Pierce County Prosecutor's Office, and the Pierce County Department of Assigned Counsel. She was a founding partner of the Whitener Rainey Law Firm, and has handled all types of criminal cases from misdemeanors to Class A felonies. She currently is employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
